In Loving Memory- Mario Ortiz Scholarship Fund

​Mario Ortiz has been a pillar for the Baseball Institute community since the beginning. Mario contributed greatly to the area's baseball community and touched hundreds of lives. To honor his dedication to youth baseball, this scholarship fund is in place to be the starting point to aid current and future high school students. We hope to contribute to his legacy and leave students a college scholarship in his name. We love and miss you Coach.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mario Ortiz, President of Illinois Premier and Partner in Baseball Institute. As we grapple with this devastating loss, we also reflect on the man Mario was and what he represented not only within our organization, but to all who came in contact with him. He was a man of faith, a cherished friend, a proud father, a devoted husband, and a humble leader. This leaves an irreplaceable hole in some of our lives, in our organization and the lives of all the players he coached along the way.
